9th Annual Independence Concert in Lyman Park was awesome finale to SHCB's ninth season!
Besides surprise, joy and excitement, as a musician arriving at Lyman Park concert call time, the wall-to-wall picnickers’ welcoming of Saint Helena Community Band proved 2 things: Dreams can come true, and Excellence and perseverance are well worth the personal effort. This hometown reception on 7/3 brought to life Francis Coppola’s founding hope: “A community band could be a wonderful thing that could get us all together as neighbors.” This get-together indeed happened in an unforgettable way on Sunday when a few hundred neighbors joined in singing Happy Birthday to Mayor Alan Galbraith who was celebrating his special day at the Band’s 9th Annual Independence Concert.
This 9th Annual Independence Concert at Lyman Park was an awe-inspiring finale to SHCB’s ninth season in its mission of education, cultural enrichment and entertainment for our amazing community. The membership of about 40 pro-am musicians are overjoyed to see their ongoing volunteering of time and talent supported and valued by so many music lovers in the valley and beyond. We excitedly look forward to our 10th anniversary season – September 2016 to July 2017 – as we proudly continue our commitment to keep music excellence alive and well in our community and beyond. Thank you, music lovers and supporters, for making our dream come true.
